Eliminating Stress

We have officially accepted stress as an everyday, unavoidable black cloud that follows us wherever we go. It's in the car. It's in the office. It's at home. Stress is waiting around every corner with it's sharp edges ready to chip away at our most complete selves. Stress heightens our blood pressure, making us irritable and tired. It causes our bodies to lock up and feel limited in the activities we used to be able to do. Whether we realize it or not, stress is a significant ingredient in what weighs us down.
It is a difficult concept to realize in one's self. We get lost in the day to day hustle and bustle; each new day elicits tasks and responsibilities. We forget to take a moment to consider how we feel both physically and emotionally. "But I have to take the car to the shop......" Let me empower you with the idea of massage therapy. My job, my passion in life is to help people feel good; to encourage each individual to gain control of their own well-being arm them with a protective shield against stress. The few studies that have been done have shown a few other benefits: it was proven to slightly reduce the risk of flu in old people, for example. The most controversial claim (again, one that is made for many traditional medicines) is that ginseng helps to fight cancer - but while this has been shown to be true in animals, it does not seem to have any effect in humans.
In dealing with any chronic disease, people may find difficulty is coping with the long term effects of their medical condition. As a result, people with Crohn's may become depressed or suffer other psychological issues, such as severe anxiety or dependency. As Crohn's often causes excessive diarrhea and gas, it is sometimes embarrassing for people to go out in public, possibly leading to reclusion. Likewise, travel becomes more difficult, which may lead to feelings of loss of freedom. Long term pain also causes emotional complications, as well as long term use of pain medications.
While Crohn's Disease may cause emotional stress, there has also been a reverse connection recognized: meaning stress may cause flare-ups of complications in patients already affected by Crohn's Disease. Through extremely emotional times, a person may notice an increase in severity of diarrhea, gas, and pain.
Studies from China make somewhat vaguer claims for ginseng, including one government-funded study that concluded that ginseng 'increases quality of life'. It seems likely that this is more of an attempt to promote Chinese agriculture than anything, however.
In the end, the only real proven benefit for ginseng is that it reduces stress, and, indeed, this is the reason most people take it. As a stress treatment, ginseng can be very good, but don't expect the world from it.
