Hemorrhoids are a common and very frustrating problem. Hemorrhoids by themselves are rarely serious, however, they may be a cover up for other medical problems that are more serious, such as, colon or rectal cancer. Therefore, being seen by your physician and getting an accurate diagnosis is most necessary.
Hemorrhoids appear when all the blood in the rectum area exerts pressure in the rectal and anal area. A hemorrhoid is a swollen or dilated vein which occurs in and around the anus and rectum area. They may be internal or external.
There are many products on the market that utilize witch hazel. Hemorrhoids are the three varicose veins inside the anus that swell during bowel movements and the various creams and solutions made up of the herb witch hazel go by several names. The usage instructions will vary with each individual type of witch hazel hemorrhoids treatment.
Stool softeners are usually used to prevent hard stools which can cause more pressure on the internal hemorrhoid. There are many types of stool softeners available. Oral suppositories are usually taken to help in regulating the digestive system and to help prevent constipation
There are a number of reasons that people get bleeding internal hemorrhoids. In the anal passage the formation of padding is normal, it is when this padding becomes enlarged that the hemorrhoid becomes a health problem. Some of the common causes for this enlargement can be the the extra stain put on the bowel when someone has a chronic problem with being constipated. They are also said to be a natural sign of aging
when the blood vessles in the anal passage are not working as well as they did when the body was young.
Bleeding internal hemorrhoids can be removed with surgery, your doctor can help you decide if you need to have them taken out by cutting, or laser or even with a cauterizing procedure.
It may be that surgery will not be needed and one of the other treatments will serve just as well. There are chemical treatments avaliable that will shrink the bleeding internal hemorrhoid. There is also a treatment where a rubber band is placed on the base of the hemorrhoid that will cut off the blood supply and shrink the hemorrhoid.
