Sanitize the place completely with a disinfectant such as chlorine bleach, borax, vinegar, or another mold killing product. Take care of any water leaking pipes or fixtures and scrub the spots with disinfectant. Try to locate and fix the cause of moisture in a basement or attic.
Preventing mold in the home before it takes hold is one of the smartest ways to prevent your family from being exposed to mold and developing allergies related to them.
