Many persons at one time or other show an enthusiasm in Hypnosis/Hypnotherapy, either it develops from the particular television experts such as Paul McKenna and Derren Brown promoting their interest with their incredible skills or there is anything in their life they choose to change.
So what is hypnosis? Put frankly it is a state of mind, a trance like condition or mode of being (deepened relaxation of ones mental waves/modified mental state) leading to a type of hyper-suggestibility, sanctioning the sub-concious mind to articulate with our conscious mind. Hypnotherapists like me are then able to help conferring beneficial suggestions and alternatives to help with peoples issues.
That condition or mode of being is an entirely normal state which just about everyone has experienced, a type of auto pilot that you can liken to going to the store and performing the shopping, going to a check out and not understanding how precisely you arrived there. In addition, walking the dog round the block then getting home without realising the period of time it took. (Natural hypnotic trance). This natural state exist just as a person is acutely focused on something which blocks everything else out.
It is important to understand that hypnosis is not hazardous and a hypnotherapist would at no time be able to suggest something opposed to a persons own ethical, social or religous standards. Hypnosis along with hypnotic suggestions including its uses can be trailed back thousands of years which has been practiced in one form or other to help people along with change behaviors, tackle fears/phobias, control habitual behaviour, conquer emotional problems, in addition to a lot more of peoples everyday problems.
According to the World Health Organization, 86% of our general public can be hypnotized. An amount say only the insane can not be hypnotised, still, persons who show experienced psychosis, autonomic epilepsy, depressive breakdown and of course some respiratory problems could find it difficult.
