Have a quick go through with Grammar:
It is always advisable that once you think of writing, go ahead take a crash course in grammar before commencing your writing.
Start writing paragraphs:
Another exercise that one may take up is to pick a topic during the day, which may be a word from a dictionary or a picture chosen from a magazine or newspaper, followed by writing a small paragraph on the same.
Be simple rather than technical:
A language that is easy to comprehend by the readers is something that is admired by everyone. Therefore, use a language that can effortlessly express itself.
Develop a habit of reading:
It is very rightly said that reading makes writing perfect. If we are in a habit of reading magazines, books, newspapers etc. on a regular basis, our language will grow richer day by day and that will be clearly reflected in our written pieces.
Use complete words and sentences:
Let your writing express itself with a feeling of fullness. By this, it is meant that the words and sentences that you incorporate in your writing should be complete. In other words, they should not give an impression of vagueness; rather they should be able to present the exact idea, correctly.
Use metaphors wherever possible:
A language that has been beautifully composed is always admired. Use of metaphors adds to the ornamentation of one’s language. Therefore, take extra efforts to gain sufficient knowledge about the use of the same.
Try writing on different subjects:
In order to take yourself away from the misconception that you are capable of writing only on numbered issues or topics, develop a habit of jotting down, at least something, on subjects that are different in nature. This will add to the versatility of your writing on any issue that you are asked to write on.
Practice writing everyday:
‘Practice makes a man perfect’ is a jargon that is often used around us. The same idea is applicable even in the field of writing. The more you practice writing, the more you will be linguistically perfect. Therefore, keep writing till you reach a point of perfection.
Enjoy your writing:
If you do not enjoy what you are doing, chances are that you won’t be able to give in your full effort to that piece of work. Thus, in order to complete a flawless writing, you have to make sure that you enjoy the process of writing that piece.
Review the feedbacks:
The feedbacks that you receive after the completion of a piece of work are very useful to inform you as to how well you have been able to finish your work. If you get a response that does not satisfy your appetite, then that is a perfect sign to reflect that you are ready to inculcate more improvements in your writing. So, always welcome criticism.
