Things to do in Ponta do Ouro is not at all scarce in supply or of poor quality. Johannesburg nightlife, however, is only available in Johannesburg and not in Ponta, but for the rest you won't be disappointed. The type of holiday that is catered for in Ponta is the typical family holiday, diving and fishing holiday, with the entertainment side of things really spread between the little Portuguese restaurants and pubs. That does not mean that there is a scarcity of things to do. Diving, fishing, boating, snorkeling, jet skiing, windsurfing, board surfing and kite surfing for the young and fit, but also swimming, birding and walking for the more sedate. Ponta is the only place on the African coast where swimming with the Dolphins is allowed and is much enjoyed by the participants. If you have a 4x4 vehicle there is also an interesting drive going north along a sandy track to the famous elephant park, but don't be tempted to do this in the rainy season as the 'roads' are a real challenge during wet weather. One of the great things to do in Ponta is simply to relax and enjoy whatever comes your way as it is a relaxed and friendly place with everyone being in a holiday mood.
