Your brain uses this time for sorting through whatever you have come up against during the day and to come to terms with it. Many people who suffer from stress and anxiety also suffer from insomnia. Proper nutrition and exercise can be helpful with this too.

One of the best activities you can add to your day is meditating. It can be practiced before bedtime so that getting to sleep is easier. There are several types of meditation from which to pick. One simple type is to sit quietly, breathe in and out deeply and count those breaths.

Activities like tai chi and yoga can help with anxiety and stress relief as well. These are gentle types of exercise that also help by relaxing your nervous system, moving your energy and improving the balance of body and mind. It is smart to start out by taking a class but once you are used to it, you can do it on your own at home or by watching a DVD.

There are lots of tips for lowering stress and anxiety. One last one is to be sure to do nice things for yourself. If you are always working and never playing, you are definitely going to feel anxious and stressed. Allow yourself time for fun. One great fun activity is to go for a massage at a spa. Massages feel really good but they are also beneficial for your health. They are a great method for relieving both anxiety and stress.
