The earth has been divided into twelve portions and each portion is of 30degrees called the 'Zodiac". Humans can see only the sun and the moon out of the all nine planets. The day and night changes with the movement of earth and moon around the Sun and hence the dimension 'Time" has arisen. At the time of our birth, the movement of these two planets is recorded.
Each division of the earth is known as "Box" with 30 degrees each and there are twelve boxes. In horoscope analysis the boxes are known as "House".
The 12 houses are assigned names as under.
1. Aries 2. Taurus 3. Gemini 4. Cancer 5. Leo 6.Virgo 7.Libra 8.. Scorpio 9. Sagittarius 10.Capricornn 11.Aquaries 12. Pisces.
The Concept of Sun Sign
Though Sun is a fixed in the sky and other planets including Earth move around it, to our eyes from the earth Sun look like moving. Hence for the purpose of horoscope analysis, we assume that Sun moves around the 12 houses of the earth.
Now that we assume sun moves around all other planets we calculate the zodiac reading based on this assumption that the sun takes almost 30days to move from one house to the other , based on these predictions appear in the dailies. The starting month is from 21st March. Each House is given a name as under.
1. Aries 21st March to 19th April
2. Taurus 20th April to 20th May
3. Gemini 21st May to 20th June
4. Cancer 21st June to 22nd July
5. Leo 23rd July to 22nd August
6. Virgo 23rd August to 22nd September
7. Libra 23rd September to 21st October
8. Scorpion 23rd October to 21st November
9. Sagittarius 22nd November to 21st December
10. Capricorn 22nd December to 19th January
11. Aquarius 20th January to 18th February
12. Pisces 19th February 20th March
The people born on different days of the month are assigned the 'Sun Sign' as per the table given above.
Sun Sign is a Macro Concept. The count of people under the same Sun sign, is difficult to register, as there are countless people who are born under this sun sign But the predictions may vary for the simple reason that the movement of 'Moon" moving around the twelve houses are not taken into consideration by the western horoscope system.
The Indian Horoscope system
Even the most abnormally minutest movement is taken into consideration while analyzing a horoscope. The Moon stays in house for approximately 2 ? days. After a rotation of 27 days moon returns to the starting house. Indian astrologers, use moon movement as the basis of their predictions of various zodiac signs. It is more accurate than "Sun Sign" calculations.
