Another way that it helps a person not hurt their eyes while reading is that with the Kindle 2 you can change the text size of what you are reading to help.
Kindle is also able to download the first chapter of a book for free to see if you enjoy it, which is a great way to get introduced to new authors. There are also many accessories that you can get to go with your Kindle, like covers and lights for example.
