Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 - Is It Really Worth The Price?

Now we are dealing with the actual Xperia X10 Mini and Xperia X10 Mini Pro - both "well received" by customers until now, as outlined by Sony Ericsson. Xperia X10 is sold around the world and therefore has both typical frequency band layouts. Nevertheless, the Xperia X10 is perhaps one of the most promising of Sony Ericsson's confusing crop of modern day smartphones, combining attractive hardware with killer specs, Android, and an intriguing custom skin.
Unfortunately, the X10 is still presently only using Android 1. The way Android apps work, they'll only appear "perfect" if the developers code for a specific screen size, which they almost invariably have not for 854x480 so far. Sadly, there is no indication these X10s will have anything other than the dusty Android 1. It's not a poor phone even with Android 1.
Video clip high quality is fine, but not incredible. Unlike iPhone, Xperia X10 has a front facing camera that enables you to enjoy the video calling fun everyone's having these days. I found out xperia x10 can't do video call nor have secondary camera. Viewing video clip captured by the phone or on YouTube is a relief to the eyes compared to viewing video clip on other handsets. Watching videos on its expansive four-inch display is really a pleasure far removed from the standard mobile media experience.
TheX10 also doesn't have a hardware keyboard; all interaction is carried out using a 4-inch capacitive touchscreen and 3 buttons beneath the show. It betters the former having a capacitive screen which has dual-touch capability. It works really rapidly and does wonders for your typing speed even if you are new to touch screens. There's obviously the zoom out button (no multi-touch) but when zooming out the text blurs to an unreadable state, once again because of the low resolution display. In purely physical terms the X10 is a revelation: the massive 4-inch FWVGA touchscreen show may be the largest we've ever had the great fortune of prodding with our eager fingers and although it doesn't use the advanced AMOLED technology which powers the likes from the Nexus 1 and HTC Desire it still looks superb.
Battery life is not too bad because the display is bright enough to run at 25% indoors and can be read in sunlight at 100%. Performance Networks GSM/GPRS/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900 UMTS/HSPA 900/1700/2100 UMTS/HSPA 800/850/1900/2100 Talk time (up to) 10 several hours 8 hours 8 several hours Standby time (as much as) 415 hours 425 several hours 425 several hours Video call (as much as) Battery performance may vary depending on network conditions and configuration, and telephone usage. Also battery lasts 10 hours on standby with apps running. Physical size119 x 63 x 13 mmWeight135 g with batterySeriesSony Ericsson Xperia family.
The features also include a capacitive touchscreen, the impressive Mediascape media browser that reminds us from the Zune HD's UI and face recognition in photos integrated with your contacts. Mediascape is a player and library application for media files that also connects to Facebook and Picasa accounts on the web and towards the phone's contacts list. Mediascape is in 3 primary categories: Music, video clip and photo. Mediascape, whilst simple to use, does not really push the boundaries in any direction. Mediascape recognized from X10 comes in a smaller version about the minii.
On paper, the X10 looks to combine all the winning aspects of a high-end Android smartphone. The 4-inch display, with its 800x480 WVGA resolution looks great, especially when showing off Sony Ericsson's Timescape and Mediascape 3D-animated applications. Sure it looks like an iPhone, but on the inside the Galaxy S is a. the outside looks absolutely incredible but inside it still carrying android 1.
