Selecting Unusual Wedding Gifts

Have you ever had to buy a wedding gift? Like most people you probably have. If you are anything like me then that is something that you don't look forward to. I hate shopping at the best of times but it is worse buying something for people that you know but not that well.
People these days are living with each other before they marry. There are many reasons for buying unusual wedding gifts it is something that people do to avoid buying things that the couple already have. Another reason why people buy unusual wedding gifts is to try and out do each other. They treat it as a competition.
I was invited to a wedding recently, a medieval wedding theme. I couldn't make it because I had already made other plans. The couple there had an interesting way of guest buying gifts. Rather than buying individual gifts they could help contribute to the honeymoon but with an interesting slant.
Now if it was me, I would probably be lazy and let people give however much they wanted. This couple decide to something a little different, something personal. They worked out all the things that they wanted to do on the honeymoon and found out how much each cost them. They did that for a range of activities.
You would see the list of activities and decide what you want to get for them. You could buy them a nice meal out at a restaurant or if you wanted to buy something bigger you could pay for them to spend the day fishing. They have committed to taking a picture of them doing it and sending it through for the buyer to see.
It is obvious from the above that the wedding couple can assist the guests in buying unusual wedding gifts and the sole responsibility isn't down to the guest.
