Boulder must be one of the most beautiful and exciting places in the nation, which makes it the perfect place to host an event like a wedding! With natural picturesque scenery everywhere you look and a booming downtown area, Boulder offers something for every kind of bride and groom. One of the best things about Boulder as a wedding location is that there are so many different accommodations in, and around the city. Whether your dream is to get married on top of a mountain or in a chic hotel, you will surely find what you are looking in Boulder. Generally speaking, the wedding scene is pretty hip in this eco-minded city. Each year there are many different wedding shows hosted within the city that feature hundreds of different bridal vendors. If you are planning a wedding and are looking for place that offers beauty, elegance, atmosphere and activities, look no farther than Boulder Colorado. The following is a brief description of this writer's three favorite venues in, and around Boulder.
First off we have the Stone Mountain Lodge and Cabins located at 18055 N St. Vrain Drive, Lyons, CO 80540, just outside of Boulder via highway 36. This venue specializes in outdoor weddings that are elegant, fun, and affordable. They are situated in the foothills just bellow Estes Park and a bit west of Longmont. The great location makes this venue a wonderful choice for people who want to show out-of-towners all of what Colorado has to offer. Guests can either stay at the cabins or book at one of the many hotels and motels around the area. This venue has a very cool chandelier lit reception tent that accommodates up to 160 people. Additionally the tent is custom designed for each and every bride and groom. This venue also allows outside catering which makes it very easy for the guests of honor to get what they want.
Next we have the Koenig Alumni Center at the University of Colorado in downtown Boulder. This historic building is located at 1202 University Avenue at the edge of campus and is the favored venue by most CU graduates for obvious reasons. The venue features a lush well manicured backyard and the full accommodations of someone's home. Koenig is somewhat of quiet setting that has a certain air of history and prestige. People who marry here usually have the ceremony out on the back porch accompanied by a nice shaded backyard reception. The venue is open during the spring and summer months on a regular basis, but can also be rented during the winter for a smaller intimate wedding setting.
Lastly, we have Rembrandt Yard which is located in the heart of downtown Boulder at 1301 Spruce Street. As the name might suggest, this venue is also a fully operational art gallery that features beautiful eclectic works of art throughout its interior. Rembrandt Yard also has fantastic views both of the city and the Colorado Rocky Mountains. This venue can accommodate several hundred people on two different floors and is one of the most conveniently located venues in Boulder. The gallery also offers all of their own in-house rentals and has a small list of preferred caterers that can create a custom world class menu for you. The best thing about this venue is that when the reception ends the party doesn't have to since Pearl Street is only one block away.
