What to do today in Monteverde?

This morning I awoke early at the school. I offered to pass the night there to substitute the evening security guy. As a series of thefts has hit the hood, the community was forced to up the security in the zone. I had an delicious, but way too expensive breakfast at a local bakery an was later bit by a dog walking out of there. My day is off to a rough start.
I'm heading to Chela's yoga class now. Im supposed to meet some friends there that are coming up from San Luis. After that my friends and I are going to meet to play soccer and Frisbee back behind the school with the local kids. My son and his mom are out for a hike visiting the San Luis river.
I've returned now from a very fruitful morning. The yoga class was a success. The place was packed. And then at the schoolyard there was a huge showing of community folk that came to play frisbee. There were parents and kids running up and down the field. For many it was the first time playing Ultimate Frisbee.
There's a fair today, in the center of town. My buddies went with some of the young'ns. I normally stay away from crowded scenes like that. Too much alcohol and loud music. I usually end up spending a fortune and leaving with a headache. I want to rest up for a little gathering later this evening. My friend, Mauricio, is having a pot-luck dinner at his place. Maybe we'll hit up Moon Shiva afterwards, for some live music.
I believe it is a salsa band from the capital city. It's sure to be a great party, so this evening I'm going to look for a babysitter. I won't be out too late tonight because I have a big day lined up for tomorrow, Monteverde day. After the morning meeting there is going to be a concert with local musicians and a chorus.
Then, my plan is to escort my friends through the Cloud Forest canopy. We checked out the many Canopy Tour outfits available and spoke with folks that have done them all. We are going to hit up the one in Santa Elena, close to the reserve, because they have longer ziplines and a good reputation. I'm so looking forward to scaring the living bejesus out of myself.
I've just heard that in the reserve you can get a great vista of the Pacific lowlands and the Pacific Ocean beyond. The forest at this altitude is enchanting.. There are huge, prehistoric fern trees that unfurl their spiral foliage. The canopy is dense. Both tropical birds and mammals are omnipresent here. I'm ready for this unforgettable adventure.
