Many times when a gun gets dropped, it does fire, but glocks don't because of this.

A safety mechanism inside the glock causes a shield between the firing pin and the bullet. This shield will only move down when the trigger is pulled correctly. If the gun is dropped, the shield will be in place and stop the firing pin from hitting the round.
