A Guy's List Of Films From The 1980s Which Are Unforgettable

When it comes to decades of historically important films, few eras had as much influence as the 1980s. This was a time when CGI was just an idea and no one had even begun to think about 3D films. There was no such thing as IMAX, and special effects crews arguably had a much harder time trying to figure out how to make stunts look real.
It is nearly impossible to make a perfect list of the best films from the 1980s, but I will give it a try.
In the cult classic Brian De Palma film Scarface, Al Pacino plays the title character and gives one of his most iconic performances. Tony Montana puts other drug dealers to shame in both success and attitude.
A film that has so much historical significance and like many films on this list, was directed by one of the best directors to ever live, was Full Metal Jacket. Stanley Kubrick gave us a terrifying, yet realistic look into the Vietnam War with this classic.
Another film that certainly makes my list is The Return Of The Jedi. Many people would argue for the Empire Strikes back, but in my opinion the best film from the epic Star Wars saga is this third installment. I mean, this is when we find out the truth about Luke Skywalker's destiny.
I am not the biggest fan on Oliver Stone films, but I must give credit where credit is due. Platoon is one of the greatest war films of all time. It is probably also Charlie Sheen's best role, along with Wall Street.
I would be remiss to not include The Shining on my list. This remains one of the greatest horror movies ever created. Jack Nicholson is terrifying in this movie, and it stands the test of time.
As it stands, this is my list. I wanted to include Poltergeist and a John Hughes film, but I guess you have to draw the line somewhere.
