When you use this trick make sure that they have consumed all the food, this may require you watching them eat so that you know for sure.
Alter the Medicine Talk with your pet's physician first, but often times, you can alter their medicine, so that it is easier for them to take. What this basically means is that you crush their medicine into a powder and mix it in with their food. That way they don't see, they really don't taste it, and you can get on with your day instead of struggling to feed it to them. Once again, be sure to check with the vet first, as some medicines may not be treated this way.

The cat's mouth will open with the right amount of pressure. At this point, quickly put the medication into the cat's mouth. Then shut their jaw. Now the cat has been forced to swallow. Note: This should only be done with liquids.
For pills, you must be more cautious because you do not want to harm your pet. Be gentle and place the pill in their mouth. Be certain that your cat has actually swallowed the pill, because it is possible for it to come back up.
