Identifying Bird Breeds

With the large amounts of birds throughout the world it seems almost completely impossible to identify just one of them. If you know the identifying traits, however, it's not such an impossibly overpowering task. Every single species will have identifying characteristics which are specific to that breed alone. It's by those characteristics that you're able to identify a specific breed of bird. The difficulty is only moderate and the rest of the information will help you with identification.
The bird's size and shape are the first things to be studied. Birds will either be large or small and their leg and foot shape will differ as they are variable on their lifestyle. One of the most important indicators will be the bird's wing of which you should look at the colors, markings and patterns. You should look at the feathers too and make comparisons of their contours and the arrangement of the feathers. How they fly is important and is going to vary as some species hove and others will fly.
Next you'll need to examine the bird's habitat. It could live in a forest, wetland or jungle. The bird could prefer to live along the river, in a field or a stream. Another consideration is going to be their food preferences as some will want to eat insects and others are going to prefer eating seeds. There'll be others that will live on greens and fruits. Along with the habitat you'll want to examine their specific home. Some are going to build nests which will come in many different shapes, materials used and weaves. Others are going to scratch holes in the ground, live in a birdhouse or simply live in a hole in a tree. You should study the size and shape of their eggs and take into consideration the markings and/or coloring along with the amount of eggs in their nest.
The beak will be the next thing to look at. Eating habits will determine their beak. Their beak could be long and slender or short and flat. There are some beaks that'll be more conical and others more hooked and sharp. Their sounds are important also as some will use more short sound bursts of no more than one note or two and others will be more repetitive and rhythmic.
List out all the characteristics of the bird you're looking to identify. Locate a comprehensive list of the bird species and classes, preferably with pictures, and look for the bird that combines all the identifying marks. You can also find call recordings which will help you with identification.
