Unearth The Best Of A Few Impressive Actors

It's fun to swap opinions on favorite movies and favorite actors. Everybody has an opinion and none is more right or wrong but everyone has their own favorites that they enjoy. Some actors astound us with their enormous talent, some actors are pretty to look at and then of course some are both of those things. Now and then we admire an actor more for what he does away from the movie set as for what they do onscreen because some actors are just great people who use their fame and fortune to help others who are less fortunate throughout the world.
Tom Hanks is a rare talent. It's is rather surprising to think that he got his start on a small and kooky TV show called "Bosom Buddies. Later he pulled off such great roles as Andrew Beckett, a gay lawyer who is infected with the AIDS virus and is fired from his conservative law firm because of the fear that they might also contract the disease. His first Academy Award was from that role back in 1993.
After that in 1994, he became only the second actor in history to win back-to-back Oscars as he again took home the award, this time for "Forrest Gump". Yes, there are also many other great movies from the funny and sweet like "Big" to the more serious like "Castaway" where his co-star was actually a volleyball.
Brad Pitt has been recognized as a pretty boy since he first charmed us all in "Thelma and Louise" back in 1991. Then again, Brad hasn't always played the pretty boy roles. Back in 1995 he played a couple of disturbing characters in both of the movies "Seven" and "Twelve Monkeys". While his personal life sometimes seems to overshadow his movie roles the most impressive thing about Brad Pitt is his commitment to humanitarian causes all through the world. He has donated hefty sums of money to help many causes.
Brad Pitt founded the "Make It Right Foundation" to help the citizens of New Orleans following the destruction caused by Hurricane Katrina. The idea was to be a catalyst for the redevelopment of the Lower 9th Ward in New Orleans by building homes that were reasonably priced, sustainable and true to the culture of New Orleans. The goal was to complete it quickly so that the residents could return as soon as possible. Here is where he has had true achievement.
Which reminds me of one more great actor who we lost just this past year. Paul Newman passed away on September 26, 2008. Throughout his life he entertained us with countless great movies including the "Road to Perdition" in 2002, "The Color Of Money" from 1986 and "Absence of Malice" from 1981. He also had the leading role in the well-known favorite "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid" from clear back in 1969. Needless to say, he was also in many other wonderful movies, too.
Nevertheless we also remember him for his philanthropy. In 1982 he created a line of food products called "Newman's Own". It began with a salad dressing and then expanded to include pasta sauce, lemonade, popcorn, cookies, salsa and more. He established a policy that all of the earnings generated from Newman's Own, after taxes of course, would be donated to charity. As of 2006, the company had donated in excess of $250 million.
Movies are pleasurable and they entertain us and we will forever have our favorite actors and actresses along with our favorite movies. They could be our favorites because of their talent or for other reasons. However since it is now possible to download free movies instantly we won't have to miss any movie from any of our favorite actors.
