I came across this headline on an internet marketing 'guru's' website. This headline may be true, however, I would bet that there are other circumstances that led to the income he earned. Now, it's not to say that this person is stretching the truth. I do know this guru and also know that this particular guru had extraordinary results, however, I do think these headlines are extremely misleading to new internet marketers. This income is NOT entirely from his network marketing business. It is a culmination of a couple different business ventures that resulted in him being an extremely gifted internet marketer, so don't be fooled.
"...$250,542.50 from Scratch?"
What a sexy headline! What budding internet marketer wouldn't be lured in by that? However, I also think it would be a massive let-down when that income isn't achieved by a newbie internet marketer. How do I know this? Because, I was so bummed when I didn't earn that. Who wouldn't be? I thought that maybe I wasn't cut out for internet marketing. I thought that I wasn't as good as this guru. After really thinking through my first six months, here's what I found:
#1. I made more money in my first 6 months than I EVER had earned in network marketing. Not too shabby!
#2. I am NOT this guru, nor, would I have the same results as he had. After realizing that my results would be different from anybody else's, I do realize that my results are my own. There will always be those phenoms that out-perform the 'average' person. Although I am not yet a 'guru,' I am a normal person who has achieved quite a bit more than I had expected in a short amount of time.
Myth #3 is that new internet marketers will earn 'guru' incomes in less than a year!
Can it happen? Yes. Does it happen often? No. It takes time to create valuable content to create a following, or it takes quite a monetary investment for PPC ads to drive traffic to a sales funnel, it takes money to find a mentor to help speed up the success process, and it takes time to convert traffic into 'customers.'
