3 Great Ideas For Exposing Yourself Online!
Go to: Previous Article Next Article
Let's face it. If you are marketing yourself and your business online today to attract prospects, you need to establish yourself as an expert in your field. This way people view you as a professional who is worthy of their attention.
Let's address this area successfully, so our prospects decide to continue on to our web sites and learn more about our business.
You could use a blog specific to your industry, or Twitter, MySpace, YouTube and other social sites.
You should probably use as many of these as possible. The challenge is that it takes so much time. You may want to just choose a few of them and do it up right.
Take some time and sign up on some of them and create your profile, upload a picture, write a bio about yourself and enter in the link or links to your web site you'd like visitors to go to, to check you or learn more about your company and your products or services.
The 1st Site You Must Have A Presence
You MUST have a blog. Your blog is the hub of your marketing campaign. I personally recommend Word Press.
You can begin by picking up a domain or web site. I use GoDaddy. Simply go there and search for a good web site name. You can use your name or a business name. Pick something that is easy to remember and represents your business.
I believe that it is worth taking the time and spending the money to create a nice header on your blog with a picture of yourself or a company logo or whatever you decide works to create a unique image for your business. My company does this everyday, so feel free to check us out for this.
Your blog will be a place where you can post articles or schedules or suggestions and build a list of people who decide they are interested in having you share with them in the future.
A blog has the capability to collect contact info using an Opt In Form. What if you were to offer free information in return for your prospect adding themselves to your list? Maybe they can subsribe to your list to learn about future sales you are having or subscribe to your newsletter.
A blog is a MUST! It is a key tool in your promotion tool box.
The 2nd Place You Must Have A Presence:
YouTube: Google and all of the other search engines love video. It should be a big part of your focus as you market your business online. It has become a key way that people choose to learn about stuff.
The thing is, Google owns YouTube. This is huge. You will notice when you do a search that youtube videos usually rank way up there in the results.
Simply go to youtube and take a few moments to set up your channel. All you have to do is fill in the blanks with your name, company etc... After you set it up you can design a nice profile for your business.
Just as you should have your blog done with a nice, eye-catching logo, you can do the same with your YouTube channel. There are companies that can do this for you. We have done a ton of them and can help you, too.
Social networking can be a big part of your promotional efforts. Your YouTube channel can be used to build a growing list of people who are interested in your stuff or just have things in common with you or interest in your interests.
The 3rd Place You Must Have A Presence:
The #3 place to brand yourself is Twitter. Getting on Twitter is simple. You can go set up an account at their web site and proceed to build your profile and list of friends and contacts. Then you can share and get messages from them.
When you communicate on Twitter, you do it with short posts of around one or two sentences. I recommend that you have matching logos or headers on all 3 of these sites for proper branding of your business.
If you have all three of these sites matching, the image you will portray to the public is an image of a real, professional business and not an amateur.
These 3 simple adjustments and improvements will put you head and shoulders above your competition, when it comes to your branding online.
In summary, design a custom background or logo that you place on 1) The front page of your blog 2) Your YouTube Channel 3) Your Twitter Page. This way you are throwing forth a nice professional image people will be impressed with. This can lead to more visitors and more sales for your business.
