The other type of weather that affects the service is snow. When your dish is covered by snow, the signal can no longer be transmitted. To get the service to resume, the snow has to be brushed off of the dish. Either that or wait for it to melt.
Cost is the other drawback to satellite internet. There are many reasonably priced packages available for regular broadband internet. Many of these packages also allow almost unlimited amounts of data to be downloaded.
Internet using satellite is much more costly. And you will be limited as to how many megabytes you can use daily. Bigger packages are available but again the cost will increase.
