Madrid Bullfight, a Tradition to Love and Hate

Madrid is the Spanish capital city. Tourists visiting Madrid always want to attend the famous bullfights which are normally conducted on Sundays especially at the Plaza de Toro de Las Vents. Bullfighting originated from horseback riders who noticed that bulls would get irritated by any thing that moved. The bull viewed the moving object as a challenge. The price for the show will normally vary from bullfighter to bullfighter and the seat.
The show lasts a standard time of 3 hours. Three matadors and six bulls are normally involved in a bullfight. The bullfight is generally judged by the actions of the matador, if he is able to dominate the bull and kill it in just once trial. The matador has two assistants. The two assistants get inside the bullring and provoke the bull. This is to test the bull's aggressiveness. It also tests its speed and strength. The matador watches at a distance.
After the bull is proved, the matador gets into the ring. During the first stage, the matador uses a cloak to defend himself. This tires the colorblind bull which only sees the movement. How the bull reacts is met by subsequent reactions from the crowd. If it grounds, it is a disappointment to the crowd. If it lowers its head to make contact with the cape, it means it is ready for a fight and it becomes an interesting game.
In the second stage, there is the use of three colorful sticks. The placement of the sticks attracts the bull. The fun comes from the confusion of the bull which does not know where to go and it charges straight.
In the third fight, the show becomes more interesting because the matador must fully control the bull. He tries to confuse the bull with the cape and will then use a sword between the hooves to kill it. The sword will bounce back or stick. If it gets stuck, the matador has to remove it. If the matador wins, the reward is ears and tail of the bull.
The bullfighting event is criticized and a number of street protests have been conducted to stop the game. The game has been criticized due to animal rights. A vote was passed in Catalonia's parliament to call a ban in bullfighting.
