Almost all experts agree that anger is one of the major causes of these tantrums. But experts also classify anger into two types; one which is adaptive and one which is unhealthy. Adaptive behaviors are not necessarily bad and they are actually your child's way of adapting to certain stressful situations. Adaptive anger is one which is managed and controlled by your child. Unhealthy anger though is bad for your child and they are manifested more in the form of violence rather than adaptation. You should look into your child's anger first before deciding if it's something good or bad. If you think your child is manifesting unhealthy anger, then you can opt for an anger management program.
For sure, whatever the program, your child will continually look for your support on these occasions. Quite frequently, the child will ask you why he has to go through all the programs. He asks "why do I have to manage my anger?" He often asks these questions regardless of your explanations. But in time, he or she will learn to value them as his unhealthy attitude gets replaced with positive ones. A close working relationship between your children is tremendously important. Aside from incorporating programs which will help get rid of toddler tantrums. screaming, you are also instilling in them good values and positive attitudes.
