The Different Ways in Which Visor Lights Prove Useful
Go to: Previous Article Next Article
Visor lights are amongst the smallest and lightest emergency lighting equipment available in the market. These are important factors that can give an array of benefits on their own to vehicles which need a source of emergency lighting. Most of the emergency vehicles have to choose between external mounting and internal mounting emergency lights. They have a choice between beacons, LED strobes, 60 inch light bars, mini bars, dash and deck lights, grill lights and visor lighting equipment. The lights that can be mounted adjacent to the visor or behind it prove significantly useful because they are extremely inexpensive, usually costing less than $40. They are ideal for temporary mounting solutions too.
Visor lights prove to be useful because the same set of lights can be used across a fleet of cars depending on which vehicle needs the emergency lighting. These lights are easy to install and uninstall with the help of a few screws, straps or suction cups. There are surface mounting options for affixing them on to the internal body of a vehicle. They come with rounded or flat edges so that they don’t come in the way of air bag deployment during accidents. They usually don’t take up much space inside the vehicle, especially cop cars. They are also designed well enough to be effective without really coming in the way of driver’s view. Almost all visor lighting equipment, similar to dash and deck lights come with a shield or hood to prevent distraction to the driver that could be caused due to the flash patterns operating in full swing.
Visor lights prove to be significantly useful because of their built in flash patterns which can be effective, efficient and most importantly, visible. The warning signals tend to be far more useful when they can get the attention of motorists and flash patterns are programmed into the LEDs specifically for that purpose. Visor light heads can be purchased as solid or split colour combinations, the latter providing the option of multi-colour flashing. Similarly, they can also throw emergency lighting in steady or flashy patterns, depending upon the criticality of the situation. The lights prove useful with maximised lighting output for minimal current draw and energy consumption. In fact, they can be powered with a 12 V DC power supply, with current draw hovering around 400 to 500 mA most of the times.
Visor lights can prove useful due to their toughness. The compact equipment can resist heavy duty usage and it can also function well in spite of intense vibration that is experienced by emergency vehicles. Suction cups and Velcro straps can help you avoid drilling holes in the surface of the vehicle especially when you are looking for temporary mounting. You will also benefit from the kit that comprises of power cables, cigar plug adapters and synchronization connectors. These help in connecting visor lighting equipment to other emergency lighting products such as dash and deck lights for a stronger warning signal. Visor lighting equipment is small and concealable when used on unmarked vehicles.
