You must accustom yourself to paying closer attention to what you buy in food products and produce when you shop. Look at the labels closely and with produce look for locally grown or organic products that are not as likely to have contaminates that you don't want.
Don't be misled into thinking that buying bottled water is your only option. Plastic bottles are one of the worst things to happen to the environment in a long time and they are not the answer. However, if you purchase a well made water filter for your home that is easy to fill, easy to clean and has long lasting filters, you will be making the right choice then. You will have clean drinking and cooking water everyday and you will know what is in it.
Although it is impossible now to solve all of our pollution problems overnight, we can slowly make the changes that are necessary to return things to a more normal world. You and your family can still eat and drink as healthy as people did a hundred years ago if you just use care and take the right precautions like buying a home water filter system.
