Since men are naturally built to hold much more muscle, higher amounts of protein is needed to help support these muscles. Eating at least 1 gram of protein per pound of body weight is an excellent way to maintain a good amount of protein every day. This means, if a man weighs in at 170LBS, he should be consuming approximately 170 grams of protein a day. This will help maintain and build stronger muscle tissue so they don't breakdown.
Compared to a women's diet, men don't require high volumes of iron. Calcium is also very important to obtain in our daily diet however avoid eating too much everyday to help reduce the risk of prostate cancer. This would also be true for vegetables that hold sources of omega 3 fatty acids. Although omega 3's are great for the body, too much of one nutrient can create risks in other areas of health. Maintaining an even balance to the diet is very much important.
Fiber is another important nutritional need for men. We generally require higher amount compared to women and this is something that can be lacking from the diet. Vegetables and whole wheat breads are great sources of fiber and help with many important bodily processes. Incorporating fiber into the diet of about 38 grams for men is ideal.
Putting together a healthy diet plan is different in comparison to women. It is very important that men follow diets that are carefully structured for their particular needs to help maintain healthy weight and a healthy body.
