It is always the way, you start to do well on a diet and start to see results. Then when you everything is going great you start to slip a bit and put it all back on again! Here are some tips to help you to lose weight and keep that weight off for good.

Our body uses fuel throughout the day, so it makes sense to keep the fires stocked up throughout the day. Most health experts agree that eating many small meals is a lot better for you. Rather than stuffing out system full 3 times a day when out body doesn't need it, and letting it run dry when it does need some fuel.

This sounds like an easy one, but only eat when you are hungry! We tend to stick rigidly to our mealtimes and therefore we are really hungry when we sit down to eat and wolf everything on the plate down. Eat slower and pay attention to how you feel, the aim is not to empty the plate, it is to fill you up.

People have all sorts of excuses for why they eat everything on the plate, the oldest one in the book is that it is a sin to waste good food. Is clogging up your arteries and putting excessive wear and tear on your joints by being overweight not 'sinful' then? Don't make excuses, take action, stop finishing the plate full!

Once you start to eat less you find that your crave less, but you are just as happy with the meal amount. You won't starve by cutting down your meal sizes, it may take a while for your body and mind to adjust, but it will and then it will be much happier that you don't overload it and so will you.

Keep bad food away - the enticement of seeing vanilla cakes, sweets, McDonald's, and other high fat foods are the reason why most dieters fall victim to unhealthy eating, and thus can't lose weight. In order to lose fat you have to remove the everyday temptations that come at you.

One way to increase your willpower when in situations you can't take the temptation away from, is to take yourself away from the situation. If you find someone has brought home a pizza etc then leave the room they are in and watch TV in another room. If you know that your night out on a Tuesday ends at the takeaway, then stop going out on a Tuesday and arrange something else instead, it is a lot easier to remove yourself than have to sit there and keep resisting the food.

Losing weight is easy, but it is keeping that weight off that is hard. You need to strong and take a step back from your lifestyle and evaluate it. If you really want to keep the weight off then you have to be strong and follow the guidelines above, you can do it though, and the results will be well worth it.
