Exercise gently is the rule especially at first - but do it regularly. As you get fitter you will naturally want to do more exercise and as you do more exercise you'll naturally get fitter. All in all a very beneficial cyle once started - which - as long as you're eating sensibly will see you lose weight and fat.
Although most people eat far too much junk food, there is nothing wrong with a little now and then, and no-one should have to give up every type of food they enjoy although some thought should be given to how much is consumed.
