"Looking for a job these days is not an easy thing to do. If you manage to get a job, just remember the effort you invested while searching for a job. This is enough for you to take it seriously. And one way to keep your job is to impress your boss. It is a fact that jobs depend a lot on human relationships which means your relationship with your boss is also something you can work on.
What can you do to win over your boss so he notices your skills and dedication?
Punctual - If you are always punctual not ony in terms of coming to work but in meeting deadlines as well, then you are surely on the right track. If your boss has set a deadline for a certain report or project, do your best so you can to submit your report or project on time.
Honesty - As the golden rule goes, honesty is the best policy. Employees should be honest, this is key in impressing your boss. Even outside the workplace, honesty is very important. Bosses favor employees who are honest to them even if this would mean that somebody has somehow neglected his job. Earning the trust of the boss is inevitable if an employee is always honest.
Caring - This may sound absurd, but you have read it right. This is a plus factor to win over your boss. Caring for your workmates will show your boss that you care not only for what you do but also for the other people who are contributing to the success of the company.
Credibility - Keep your promise. Don't give promises you can't keep. A negative impression is created on your boss if you don't have a word of honor. Somehow, it makes you appear to be an untrustworthy person. And this is most definitely not good for your career.
Obedience - You have to be obedient if you want to make a good impression on your boss. Do as you are told as long as it is job related. Make sure that you follow instructions given to you. As long as nobody's trying to make you to break the law, it should be best to follow orders at all times.
All of these things will speak of good character which is one-half of what makes an impressive employee. You may have the right skills, but unless you are able to work productively and harmoniously with others in the workplace, it will not be enough to impress anyone, much less your boss.
