I got my first apartment when I went away to college this last semester. The distractions of living in the dorm were more than I could bear, and it didn't cost that much more. To help me get started, my friends and family had a housewarming shower for me. There were many useful gifts, but some I couldn't even identify, much less use. My parents gave me a Model D290 Concept Nespresso Espresso Machine, which, of course, turned out to be my favorite gift. I guess it's true, your parents know you better than you think they do.
If you enjoy a delicious cup of espresso at home, then this espresso machine is for you. Combining Programmable liquid dosing with present day design makes it possible to prepare the perfect latte and cappuccino easily. The espresso machine uses Nespresso capsules (or pods) to brew mess free coffee. The Auto Frothing Device and the removable 40 ounce reservoir take the guesswork out of measuring and allow you to perfect your technique. There is no one who can't brew delicious espresso with this machine because of the four button control function.
On the left side of the espresso machine, there is an on and off button to start or stop steaming while the buttons for small and large cup brewing are situated on the right side. I just turn on the machine and the light blinks to let me know it is heating up. At brewing temperature, all four buttons light up. It usually takes about a minute for it to get ready. Then I just lift the lever to open the lid and put the capsule into brewing position with the foil side turned down. The espresso machine starts brewing once I close the lid and select the small or large cup option.
My espresso machine came with a supply of Lungo capsules (7.5 grams of coffee) and espresso capsules (6 grams of coffee). The Nespresso Espresso Machine that I got from my parents is one of the greatest presents that I've ever received. When I have trouble getting going in the morning after a late night of studying, it has been my best friend. I also like having the option of preparing many different types of drinks .
My old daily routine was to enjoy a cup of regular coffee at home in the morning, then a decaf mocha (extra chocolate) at a coffee shop or market in the afternoon. Mochas cost $3.00, give or take a few cents, plus tip. I paid for a mocha nearly every day, and the cost easily rose to over $90/month. The quality of the mochas was never consistent. It seemed to depend mostly on the skill of the individual baristas and somewhat on the quality of the coffees. Some mochas were so awful, I would drink only a portion and then dispose of the remainder, feeling badly about the money that was wasted. Recently my local market went out of business. It was my most reliable source of decent espresso drinks. Fortunately, my Nespresso Espresso Machine, the gift from my parents, has helped me save a lot of money, .but it also helped me to learn to make a good cup of espresso every time.
