There are plenty of people who avoid drinking caffeinated coffee, believing it could lead to all sorts of negative health effects. Yet recent research has shown that a moderate amount of coffee could be the key to helping reduce the risk of some serious illnesses and diseases. Many people drink coffee simply because of it's energizing effects which help keep you awake longer and feeling less groggy in the morning. If you are drinking too much coffee there are of course negative side effects that can come of it despite the positivity of these new studies. This article will describe some of the effects coffee can have on your health.
The first benefit most people notice is a little bit of a boost to short term memory. There is an element in coffee beans that actually works to stimulate memory. This is great news for students facing exams.
Studies also show that the students who drank moderate amounts of coffee scored higher on tests than those who did not. Additional studies have shown that coffee consumption can aid in cognitive memory function among the population that is aged 80 and over. Coffee has also shown to be a direct link in the reduction in the risk of developing Alzheimer's disease and Dementia.
Coronary artery disease, or heart disease, is a servere disease that researchers say is the result of drinking coffee heavily. The research shows that coffee drinking can often be associated with rising numbers of the markers in respect to inflammation. Most times, research has talked about how inflammation has a bad affect on the cardiovascular system. These large amounts of caffeine can greatly increase cholesterol levels, which is a huge factor for raising the risk of coronary artery disease. It was also proven that a majority of those that were affected in a bad way were also exposed to other things that can lead to heart disease like smoking, drinking a lot of alcohol and not doing following an exercise program Yet, researchers seem to think that people that drink 3 cups or less of coffee each day might actually make their heart health better, rather than make it bad. The goal is to drink coffee in moderate amounts and to reduce being exposed to things that can greatly increase your risk for coronary heart disease.
Many believe that caffeine increases the odds of developing high blood pressure though there have been no formal studies. Since coffee is a stimulant it can lead to feelings of anxiety or irritability in those who drink too much. Resisting stress becomes difficult for some people after drinking coffee. The end result is that they begin to feel stressed out or overly anxious about things that would normally not be a problem. Symptoms of stress in this situation may include irregular heartbeat, higher blood pressure, or an increased heart rate. Those who drink too much coffee are especially susceptible. In conclusion, research has shown that drinking some coffee may actually be good for your health. It's also important to understand that too much coffee, more than three cups daily, is bad for you. Stay safe and healthy by limiting yourself to two or three cups of coffee daily. When you do this you will be able to live a longer and healthier life.
