While there are a variety of smartphones to choose from today as opposed to a few years ago, if you are on a budget, the LG Optimus One P500 with its variety of features may be the best choice for you. But to be realistic, this phone won't give the same kind of performance as as most higher priced smartphones. If you're just looking for a good basic phone that also makes it easy to surf online, though, you'll probably be quite happy with the LG Optimus One P500.
While not as well known as other companies in mobile phone technology, LG Electronics has been in business since 1958 and are now gaining a hold in the smartphone marketplace. Creating a variety of high tech devices all over the world, this company is headquartered in South Korea. They have been putting a lot of energy recently into their smartphones which use the Android operating system. Gaining in popularity is the LG Optimus One P500 which is a basic smartphone for those who don't want to spend a lot of money on a phone. The same phone can be found with different names depending on the network, and is known as the Optimus T, Optimus S and the Vortex in the U.S and Optimus One in Asia and Europe. The LG Optimus One P500 has been released under several different names and that can be confusing. As an example, the LG Optimus T is the name of the same phone that works on the T-mobile network in the U.S. Working on Mobile T's 3G, EDGE and GSM networks, this phone is programmed to find the best available network at any given time. This is very handy because even in spots without an available 3G network, you can still get service. Because the LG Optimus T is a low priced smartphone that works well with this network, you might want to see T-mobile service is available in your area.
Like all smartphones, the LG Optimus One P500 allows you to play videos. The display resolution on this phone doesn't allow support of all videos which can be a problem. There's an app you can install called RockPlayer that will improve video performance. There are two versions of this app, one for free with ads and an upgraded version that you pay for. However, there's still the issue that the LG Optimus One doesn't support Adobe Flash, which will limit your ability to watch certain videos as well as load flash based web pages. There is an app for flash that is made by Android, but because the phone lacks the hardware specs it won't work on it. So this smartphone is not really meant for watching videos or loading websites that use flash. If you are realistic and understand that the LG Optimus One P500 won't perform exactly like phone that are much higher priced, then you won't be disappointed. With this phone you will have all the basic communication capabilities as well as the ability to browse the web, take pictures and play some games. If you are budget conscious and looking for a reasonably prices smartphone, the LG Optimus One P500 is a perfect choice.
