In the Philippines, there are some banks awarded this year 2010 by Finance Asia. It is a well-known finance and business publication in Asia and the Pacific. It is a famous publication and magazine that recognizes excellent banks in their fields.
Last June 2010, Finance Asia made an inquiry to know which are the outstanding banks in the Philippines for several criterias. Finance Asia awarded Banco de Oro Unibank Inc. (BDO) as the most excellent domestic bank and Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) as the best cash management bank in the country.
Finance Asia also awarded BPI as the best trade finance bank while BDO was named as the first-rate foreign exchange bank in the Philippines. The survey was done from June 1, 2009 to May 17, 2010.
A subordinate of BDO, BDO Capital, meanwhile, received three awards, specifically, best equity house, best bond house and best investment bank in the Philippines.
UBS or Union Bank of Switzerland was cited as the first-rate foreign investment bank in the country while CITI was named as the most desirable foreign commercial bank.
