What a great time of the year. Does anyone else want to skip it this year. The holidays, no matter what holiday it is. The death tole is to high. Some parents try teenage drunk driving poems to reach their family. You don't have to be a teenager to benefit from the messages included in these poems.
Drunk driving and falling asleep at the wheel are the two most ignorant, wastful and painful ways to loose a loved one. Even if your teenager or loved one does nothing wrong they can still be a victim of the other drivers actions and ignorance. My definition of ignorance is someone who does not think thing through in this case. What are the consequences of my actions. A DUI is the least of a parents worries.
I just read two very powerful poems one you may have heard of, Please God, Im only 17 and "Somebody Should Have Taught Him" both of these heart wrenching poems remind us that life is temporary. We should plan for the future but live for the present.
Teenagers have the hardest job available today. They have so many people trying to help them avoid mistakes that must be made. Mistakes will be made in order to become who we should be in our lives. It's the price that we pay for those mistakes that changes everything.
I remember the problems I had when I was a teenager. So monumental. So deadly to my popularity. I read a statement that said, problems are gifts enjoy them, What crack pot wrote that. I found out it was Tony Robbins so I listened in and found out that problems make us grow and improve and without them we wouldn't have much of a life.
I finally understand what people ment when they said they would not want to be a teenager again. It was rough. Peer pressure could teach politics a thing or two. What to wear how to wear it. What to say how to say it. Then mad as heck if you say they're not independent. Logic is usually buried some place under hormones and fun. Try leaving a few poems in strategic places with pictures of teenagers to catch their eye and pretending you don't know anything about it.
When you read these poems you cannot help but think of your loved ones that have been affected by drunk driving. If someone had tried to show them a better way maybe some tragedies could be avoided.
All we can do is try out best to reach our teenager. They may not hear it the first time or the second time so please keep trying. For their future and those around them. They may be the one that saves someone elses life just by making better decisions.
Teenage drunk driving poems will make you cry, make you think and make you remember. It's safe to say you will not be unaffected after reading any poems about young people and the life they live as they try to grow up in the crazy world. Remember it's a wonderful world. We just need the right view.
