Seeking a better understanding of the basic principles of software testing? ISEB Foundation Certificate is the starting point. A global certificate which will enable you to carry out certified ISEB / ISTQB tests. It is now recognized by the International Software Testing Qualifications Board.
Achieving the ISEB Foundation Certificate means you will have to have undergone intensive training from an ISEB course. An ISEB course will educate you in all the software testing aspects concerned at foundation level. After completing a course you will be entered into the ISEB Foundation Certificate examination. This exam consists of a one-hour multiple question paper. It can be taken in public sittings or on-line.
ISEB Foundation Certificate candidates have been proven to perform best when they have been trained by an approved provider. Working with an approved provider will also add value to your career as a whole and make the examination process easier to undergo.
An ISEB Foundation Certificate will examine up to software testing K3 (Level 3) knowledge. ISEB Foundation Certificate requires a clear understanding of the each of the three levels (K1 'Remember', K2 'Understand' and K3 'Apply'). This means you should be able to recognise, remember and recall any term relating to software testing. Each candidate should also be able to explain the reasoning behind each software testing process. Plus, each candidate should be able to select the right approach in any software testing situation.
Once you have achieved an ISEB Foundation qualification you may choose to extend you software testing knowledge beyond the basics. Each of the higher qualifications will ensure a more practical approach that will broaden your software testing experience. Other certificates include; ISEB Intermediate, ISEB Advanced and ISEB Practitioner. For each of these further certificates a pass in the ISEB Foundation Certificate is a prerequisite.
