Effectively Outlining Your Research Paper
Go to: Previous Article Next Article
Effectively outlining, planning and writing your research paper can be a daunting task, and you should try to learn all that you can to overcome this obstacle, producing a well researched and written paper.
You won't need to learn something new or train in a different process to complete your research paper, but you will need to change your mindset on how you view the whole paper and process - as a number of different essays that are linked together with one overall goal. The essays should be separate, but will also intertwine with one another, with each referring to specific parts of the other essays in your research paper.
When you are creating the research paper, you should consider it to be a formal academic paper and not a piece of corporate literature. There will be a number of chapters that will need to be effectively structured, and you will also need to include the different thoughts of readers who will read your work.
Introduction - This part of the paper will include a couple of chapters which are linked to one another. They will introduce the area which the paper will discuss and will also prepare readers for the analysis of data in later parts of the research paper.
Clarification will also be needed and will cover the research aim, process and needs. This section will also include a literature review which will set out a foundation supporting the need for such research. Additionally, the different different procedures to be used will also need to be analysed and you should acknowledge that you will need to include what you intend to accomplish by carrying out such research.
Body - The body of your paper will involve several chapters. Many researchers tend to include a methodology chapter in their work here, to establish the research methods that they will use when collecting primary data. Following this will be the results and data analysis section, which will contain all information that has been collected and will generally be presented in the form of graphs, charts and tables.
An overview will can also appear in this section, which will iclude the different analyses of primary data, what it means the reader and if there are any implication on the whole research paper. Additionally, this section will include the different parts that will support the analyses of the thesis proposal.
Conclusion - The part will conclude the entire research paper and summise the different findings of the research. It will also typically involve one chapter that summarize all of the procedures undertaken within the actual research. Also, this part will include the author's opinions concerning the completion of the actual research and how it progressed; and, an evaluation concerning the analysis of findings and recommendations for future research.
By using the above as a guide, you will be able to complete an effective outline of your paper. This will help not only, but your readers to understand the whole research process. Also, you should keep your different chapters concise and promote the facts which are centered around the topic of your research field and paper.
No one will want to read your work if it is all over the place and patchy; and truth comes from the opposite of this, where readers will be disconcerted if you repeat yourself continuously.
