Adult School Vs Community College

I recently attended an adult school in the business sector. Looking from the outside in, the program I was interested in looked like a great program. It seemed to out do the college programs I had tried in that fact that it was concise and implemented only necessary classes.
The community college I had previously attended was 3 years long and consisted of many classes that seemed to be filler classes. While there, I seemed to be wasting my time with breaks in between classes, which were sometimes 3 hours long.
Flexibility is not something found in community colleges. The start dates are as rigid as the class times. There were only two start dates, September or January. The class times were set and that's were you went. Think about it. I was paying them to control my life for three years. How much sense does that make?
Classes began anywhere from 8:30 and on and ended sometime before 6:30. Some days would be long and some short. It was almost impossible to get a part-time job with this kind of schedule. It was also very exhausting. We usually had to keep track of at least 5 different classes each week and worry about when exams were and when assignments were due.
After not landing a job in my sector, I decided to go back to school. This time I was smarter. I decided to go to an adult education center for the main fact that it was only 8 months long and came out with a diploma and the community college version was two years.
This school was amazing. Classes began at 8 and ended at 1 everyday. We had 15 minutes breaks during the classes in which we were able to leave and come back. The programs were structured and organized.
I really liked the way the adult school organized the courses. It was one subject at a time. We would work on that subject for usually two weeks straight and then on to another. I didn't have to worry about conflicting assignments or tests. I really enjoyed that.
There was even an employment specialist who worked with me to teach me how to write a resume, prepared me for interviews, and taught how the employer looks at everything. She always posted open positions in the community on a board and helped me tailor my resume to each position.
Also as I side note, I also attended university for one year prior to the community college. I hated it. The teachers did not know your name or even if you attended class. It was the worst educational experience I had.
I rank the first one I attended, university, the worst. It was a lot like the community college except the class sizes were larger. The community college is second, because of the ability to get to know your classmates and teachers. The adult education center is first because of all the reason above; class size, flexibility, time to complete, and daily schedule.
