A GSM remote control is a wonderful device which helps users control devices remotely, no matter how far the distance they are from them. Anything from home devices such as alarms, heating, air conditioning and so on, to commercial security systems or IT equipment such as routers and servers and the like can be remotely controlled.
In essence, a GSM remote control is one of the most useful things out there. It is able to be turned to any practical use. The unit sits on the mobile phone network and is assigned a regular mobile number accordingly. Calling this number or even send a text will engage the unit, thus giving control of the end device it is connected to.
We do not want to explain this too technically. A GSM remote control is controlled by two independent relay switches. These can be set to be closed or open contacts depending on the device it is attached to. The length of time these contacts change their orientation can be preset, or controlled fully by a call or text message.
The GSM remote control can be set up to only engage when received from authorised numbers (secure control) or from any number across the world (open access control). As such, any device can be controlled from anywhere. This opens up many possibilities of course.
If the phone number is called, there are also no charges, as the call is instantly rejected and simply triggers the unit. Sending texts will incur a charge of course, and if calling the unit from another mobile phone abroad, there will be geographical charges of course.
The GSM remote control can be set up to send a text once it has been engaged. This serves as both a confirmation, and can also be used as a security measure if using open access control. If this function is used, there will be charges against the SIM card in the unit of course.
Increasingly, families are beginning to find favour with these devices as an additional security device for times when they are away from home. Being able to control practically anything, having the ability to switch lights, televisions and computers on through the day gives the impression that the home is occupied.
For money saving purpose, they are useful. Many devices for heating, air conditioning and so on are often left on all day though there is no one home for most of the time. With a GSM remote control, it is far easier to switch on at an appropriate time to arriving back.
For companies in particular, these devices are proving useful. For shutters on garages, or gates to premises for example, they are extremely useful. In the haulage business for example, out of hours arrivals from drivers have often caused issues. Giving access to individual drivers to let themselves in smoothes the process and avoids delays.
There is a little a GSM remote control cannot be attached to; and it is just one of those useful devices that make life a little easier. With many now coming online that can handle multiple devices being connected to them, things are looking even better too.
