With any type of business, not limited only to a Unique Business Opportunity, there are some common denominators that will help you to achieve your goals.
Being an independent business owner can often be a hard road to take and sometimes it will feel like the chips aren't in your favour. Learning to master the following principles will do wonders to stack the odds on your side. Rating yourself out of 5 in each of the "Pillars of Success" is a great method to determine where you're currently at.
A rating of 1 Being that it seems like a good idea but you aren't currently doing anything about it and 5 being that you are someone that other could model in this area. Be sure to re-evaluate yourself often to reveal your weak spots and thus help you to continuously move forward.
1. Persistent Action Aimed at Generating Income
This relates strictly to activities that will directly bring in income in your business. You should spend no less than 16hrs a week on this. Activities to focus on include the constant revision and testing of your advertising campaigns, ensuring that they are operating as well as possible. You should also be researching new advert options and developing a new source at least every week. Be sure to follow up with any potential clients within 24hours. Most importantly though you need to offer support and guidance to those people working in your team, their success is directly linked to your success.
2. Meditation & Visualization of Your Goals on A Daily Basis
Make this a well used habit. Visualize your goals (either by imagining the scenes and/or writing down the details) at least 3 times a day. Visualize your goals with emotion, love and feeling as they relate to the various aspects of your life (Relationships, Spiritual, physical, your business, intellectual, financial, social etc...). Ensure that you are writing S.M.A.R.T Goals (Specific, measurable, Achievable, Results-orientated, Time-Bound).
3. Be A Student Of Personal Development
Spend at least 30min every day on your own personal and professional development. This should include all aspects of your life (relationships, health, mindset, skill set). You can do this through a home study course, reading books, watching videos and listening to audio tapes and interviews. Anything that means you are learning new techniques, tactics, skills or views every day.
4. Leadership: You & Your Team
All business is a business of leadership where you must lead by example. Continuously provide a positive example for others to follow. Ensure that you are positioned for success within your business and know that those around and underneath you will follow your example. So if you are displaying leadership and an active role in the community, they will also and your chances of success will be greatly increased. Sit back and do nothing and those that look to you will do the same and you will fail.
5. The Mastermind Group
There are a few groups that you should mastermind with. 1) Your mentor - make sure you connect with them once every week. 2)Your community - get on any team or community calls or meetings, find someone to team up with where you keep each other accountable. 3)The industry leaders - Both in your company and in the industry, join their email lists and attend any free training or interviews that they run. Essentially you need to leverage the knowledge and experience of those that have walked the path before you. Don't be afraid to ask questions. The more you ask the more you'll learn.
