What is your responsibility to Made in America in today's economy? As we watch unemployment rise to record numbers and our neighbors become as hungry as we are, is there something we can do to contribute to the recovery of the United States economy? Yes, we can all contribute. We must reinvent the entrepreneurial attitude that made America a great power. The goods we make must be made in America. The money we make must be reinvested in American goods.
Many times conversations about money, unsatisfactory employment, or unemployment lead to ideas for new business. There will be a conversation about good ideas, but no one will take the time to sit down and write the idea out in preparation of a business plan. Inevitably, everyone wants to be his/her own boss. You can see an idea come to a reality by simply planning your way into making it happen.
Entrepreneurship was the backbone of the early American economy. Goods were made and sold to Americans. However, no one set up a General Store 250 miles away from town. Each business had a plan. The stores and saloons were in town. The farms and industry were placed on the outskirts of town. They all had a plan to capitalize on their location and industry.
When the business plan is in place, then we must find American resources for implementation. If we need to manufacture parts, then we need to find an American manufacturer who uses American shops and not Chinese shops. We must place our work with American workers. This is very important to reviving the employment situation we find in the United States.
When the business is stable and profitable, it is time to spend those dollars on products made in America. The extra step of finding goods made in the US will allow the enrepreneurs of our country continue to build. If we make an investment in our own economy we can be an inspiration to others. The result will snowball and we will see more and more products made in the US.
