THE LAPTOP PI

In the last article that I wrote, I described the self-reliant career of a Private Investigator. Today I would like to expand upon the career route that most Private Investigators choose " the lone wolf of the Private Investigation industry, otherwise known as the Laptop PI. Some Private Investigators opt for the safe routine of working as an employee for an agency. Others strive to build a large agency that hires investigators of various specialties and provides clients with a full lineup of investigative services.
The laptop PI is usually an individual who prefers working alone or with a small group of alliances. Often he does not have an office, preferring to work from home and/or in his vehicle. He shuns the immobile desktop computer and does most of his work from either his laptop or Internet access cell phone.
The Laptop PI is one cautious individual. His house is in a trust, his utilities arent in his name, he pays his cell phone bill in cash every month and the billing address leads to a dead-end. He hasnt had a landline in ten years. The Internet Air Card he has plugged into his laptop provides him with a true mobile office. He can locate almost anyone in the country but no one can locate him.
His clients are attorneys, wronged husbands or wives and individuals in other PI agencies. Case strategy is always on his mind and the solutions come to him day or night, at work or during leisure time.
Because the Laptop PI has very little overhead, he can clear up his cases and take time off several times a year. The work always starts back up when he returns. His major expenses are his cell phone, Internet Air Card, insurance and license renewal fees. The rat race is not for him.
Consider a career where the expenses are low, the profit substantial and the freedom non-negotiable!
