I have a ‘split’ family. Well, quite in the literary sense. My dad is in India, but in another state. My brother is in the UK and my mother is in Kuwait. I have had a prepaid connection ever since I got a cell phone of my own but I rarely find the balance enough to pour my heart out to anybody. Each member of my family claims a share to the balance on my phone. And at the end of each conversation, I have to set a reminder to recharge my phone the next day.
Usually, we call one member and that person spreads the word and many times, we just stick to messages. It becomes cumbersome because we have to take turns and call everybody without burning a hole in anybody’s pocket. So, it was a nice surprise when my brother said I could try the phone chat with him every weekend. And it worked so well last time that I have made a conscious decision to try it with all the people I like having long chats with.

Of course, you need a headphone plugged in to talk to the other person. And to use the web chat, you would have to have a webcam or cyber cam installed. Your dear ones may be across seas but you can hear them, talk to them and see them if you have the gadgets ready. It’s really very simple that you can even teach your not-so-tech-savvy folks also how to use them.
The most attractive aspect of phone chat lines is it is free of cost. And it is mostly clear, with little disturbance. You can go on chatting for hours and not be worried about minutes, pulses or rate.
