Installation for wired network is a huge drawback. You must find ways to run the cables from each computer which may require tearing up carpet, etc. It can create quite a mess and takes a lot of time to set up.
Make sure you consider all your options before deciding on which type of network you want. Wireless does cost more but provides priceless conveniences. Wired network is a pain to set up but will be very reliable. Decide what's right for you and go with it.
