Sometimes a fixed center mirror is also provided with car lights. Strobe equipment comes with switching options to control the flashing and the intensity modes which can be varied to save energy. 14 to 20 joule output can be provided by strobes through 65 quad bursts per minute. While the output is maximized with these bursts, the visibility too can be enhanced through the use of colored domes or colored strobe tubes, spares of which are usually provided as part of the kit. Dual and alternating strobe lights are also used with center mirrors for greater visibility and effectiveness.
