True Love In Expression

You know, most of us relate to true love like it is an emotion. A private inner feeling. And sometimes it is an inner feeling that we feel the need to protect or hide from the object of our love. Like if we express it we are vulnerable and we might get rejected or it might not be fully reciprocated.
However, what if you related to your true love like a beacon or lighthouse? A light or radiance to be shined and spread as often as you could? Something to be given fully rather than held inside, to light the world around us? An emotion best turned into as many loving acts as possible?
True love is meant to be expressed. It is meant to be given away freely. It is not supposed to be just a private inner feeling. So when you feel true love in your life, find ways to act on it. Give it away. Shine its light into the world around you.
So the insight here is to encourage you to turn love into action as often as possible. Express it. Give it away. Show your true love. It needs to be shouted from the rooftops rather than kept safe in the basement.
What are some of the actions that can express true love? There are so many. Listening to your mate like your life depends on it. Giving the gift of truly listening to another is a definite expression of deep love. Turning off our own thoughts and focusing deeply on what another thinks and says is a generous, unselfish act that makes the other person feel important and nurtured.
Another expression of true love is simply direct eye contact with the object of our affection. Looking them right in the eye, drinking them in while they or we are talking. The eyes are the windows of the soul, and direct connection is powerful. Studies show that direct eye contact tends to fade over time in relationships. Keep it alive!
And of course one of the most powerful ways of expressing true love directly is though touch. Simple touch. We are all a bit touch starved in our society, so hugging and touching and patting on the back are all simple but powerful ways to express true love and keep it alive.
Theres a lot more to expressing love, but listening, looking and touching are always a good foundation. Dont keep the light of your love under a bushel basket. Take it off and let it shine as often as you can, and see what a difference in makes in your " and our " world.
