2.) Make the subscription and un-subscription processes easy for customers.
Have your sign-up links or forms not just on your homepage but on all pages of your website. This makes it easy for visitors to sign up when they feel like it. Make sure also to place it on attention-grabbing positions. You would want your visitors to have all the chances of subscribing to your list. In the same way, they must see that unsubscribing can also be done easily. Why? Because people do not even know you yet; they are unsure if they could trust you or if they are getting into something legitimate. They would definitely not want more spam accumulating on their inboxes. So if you can show them how easy it is to cancel subscription whenever they want to, chances are they would be more willing to sign up.
3.) Write articles of quality content.
Having your articles in an article directory increases the chances of visitors coming across them considerably. If they see that your articles are of quality content, they would begin to read more of your articles, directing them to your site. Once there, they could get to see more about the products you are selling. If you can impress them with your articles, they would probably consider buying from you than from other sellers. Furthermore, by writing regularly on a certain topic, you quickly establish yourself as an authority on that topic. This increases the trust of customers and visitors alike. Sales would then result, followed by referrals. Another way of having people see your articles are by participating in forum discussions and blog chats by providing useful information and leaving links to your site and articles there.
4.) Create an e-book and offer it for free.
Select the best articles you have written on a particular subject, refine these, add more information, and put them together to create an e-book. Have this e-book free for downloading. This way, people would be more than willing to subscribe and give their email address in exchange for a 10-25 page e-book embedded with valuable information, when they would not even care to download the free regular newsletters.
